Since graduating from the University of Manchester in 1980 David spent over 40 years in the oil industry working for operating companies, engineering contracting companies and consultancies – mostly within the field of water treatment.

He retired from the oil industry in 2020 and is now devoting his work time to humanitarian uses for subsea water treatment.
